Actor Amitabh Bachchan has launched 'See Now' campaign to help end the avoidable blindness. This campaign has been launched mainly in some districts of Uttar Pradesh. Under the campaign, the information will be provided in five districts- Unnao, Lucknow, Raebareli, Lakhimpur, Kherai and Sitapur, through radio, television, print, social media, WhatsApp and SMS for optical health, local services and access to them.
Actors wear glasses themselves and they hope that this expedition will encourage people to wear glasses. Amitabh said in a statement, "The problem of sight is very common in India. The absence of understanding and awareness about eye ophthalmology works in people, misconceptions about general and easy treatment among people.
People do not even know about the availability of permanent 'Eye Care' services in your area. Many types of blindness can be avoided by adopting protective measures. The campaign was launched by The Fred Hologos Foundation and the Essilor Vision Foundation, along with Sightsavers India and Vision 2020.
