Advice to aspiring actors: Follow your heart and never say goodbye to your dreams

He was a model, and became an actor because of the need for money. He believes in God and believes that he owes everything to him. He does not like people from the industry, but is friends with himself and the bankers. He can't dance like Hrithik Roshan. He says he became an actor because he is a very private person and will act as long as it excites him.

As a teenager, he thought about the profession of a chemist. But the future actor had to interrupt his college studies because he worked as a model in Delhi for four years. In 1998 he moved to Bombay and starred in commercials (Digjam fabric, Lakme perfumes) and music videos for Udit Narayan and Anubhav Sinha.

When Anubhav Sinha set out to make Tum Bin in 2001, Priyanshu, like other film debutants, was not an absolute choice. Even though they had worked before, Anubhav gave him a screen test four times! The first thing Priyanshu did after signing the film contract was to rush to the temple. He desperately needed money to pay off his debts, so the film came in handy: "Movies were never a career goal. I became an actor by accident." He considers himself lucky, but always goes with the flow. The film, where all the roles were played by debutants, did not become an absolute failure and earned critical praise.

The following year, the next step was the light-hearted comedy Aapko Pehle Bhi Kahin Dekha Hain with Sakchi. The film failed miserably.

Aishwarya Rai's family film Dil Ka Rishta did slightly better due to the presence of a beauty queen in the film. The heroine Aisha preferred Priyansha to Arjun Rampal himself!

2003 was marked by the failure of Pinjar, a serious tape where Urmila Matondkar shone. Critics praised his work, noting the progress in the work of the actor. The actor played the idealistic Trilok, who struggles with the surrounding violence. "In Amrita's novel, Pritam Trilok is an eight-year-old boy. In the film, he is about 20 years old," he says.

2004 didn't start very well for him - ...Woh with Cleo Isaacs failed. But Priyanshu fondly remembers the director of the film, Raj Sippy, who gave him the freedom to play and tell stories in between filming. He recalls: "It was the best offer I've ever received. I still don't know who's who in Bollywood. I was very excited about the film because it was directed by the versatile and prolific Raj Sippy, who worked with Amitabh Bachchan in Satte Pe Satta and Vinodom Khanna in Inkaar. He has such a huge experience in the 70s and 80s and with such a range of actors."

Since he got into the movies "for debt", his perception of the world has changed: "I now have a clearer idea of what I want to do with my life. I no longer act in films for show."

He took a three-month acting course, but Priyanshu worries that if he had an idea about life at 17, he would have studied acting more seriously.

Today every failure upsets him. He was especially disappointed with the failure of such a talented work as Pinjar: "... I gave him two years of my life. Despite some awkwardness with Manoj and Urmila, I got along well with the crew. In the end, everyone became nervous and hostile to each other "The thrill of creation is gone. My problem wasn't that I wasn't included in the film's promotional campaign. I just wish that experience didn't end up on a brighter note."

Film Star Tanuji Chandra, Julie with Neha Dhupia and Mumkin with hot couple Bipasha Basu and John Abraham are due out in 2004. In Film Star, he played an alcoholic lawyer: "Like Sunny Deol in Damini. I played him as a guy who was in the middle of a crisis that he didn't want to be in." In Julie, he plays a Good Samaritan who marries a prostitute. "He is very noble," says the actor. In Mumkin, he played a commercial producer and the crew celebrated his 31st birthday on the set of this film: "They all embarrassed me by giving me a cake and singing 'Happy Birthday'."

There is also the long-running Koi Mere Dil Mein Hain with Dia Mirza. "It took two years to finish this. But a commitment is a commitment. I'm honest with my work, just the same

Now Priyanshu is serious about working calmly with experienced professionals and large companies. "I like my place in life. Life is great. I just moved to a new place of residence. But I live all alone. There is no one in my life except my parents who live in Delhi. Taking care of them is my highest preference. But I would be more than happy if someone would share my life with me."
