This film was the last film of late actor Sushant Singh, which was released in theaters after his death. Mukesh Chhabra made his directorial debut as a casting director with this film. The film was based on John Green's novel 'The Fault in Our Stars'. Years after the film's release, director Mukesh Chhabra shared a post on X and wrote, 'Dil Bechara 2.'
