Randeep Hooda directed himself
Randeep Hooda, who has always been one of the public's favorite actors for his brilliant acting performance, is now debuting as a director as well. He not only played the lead role in 'Savarkar' but also directed it. When this film was announced, its director was Mahesh Manjrekar. But later he left the project and cited his creative differences with Randeep as the reason. Manjrekar had also said that during the making of the film, Randeep started becoming obsessed with his character Savarkar and wanted too many changes in the film, so he decided to leave the film. After Manjrekar's departure, Randeep took over the command of 'Savarkar'.
Earlier this film was to be released in 2023 but Randeep Hooda had a dispute with the producers regarding its rights. Hooda had worked hard for the film and lost 26 kg weight in a month. But it was alleged that the makers were not interested in the film and it was shelved. After which Hooda also produced the film. Bombay High Court, while giving its verdict on the dispute, decided that 70% share in the revenue of 'Savarkar' would be of Hooda and 30% of the remaining two producers. Now finally 'Savarkar' will be released in theaters on 22nd March, on the occasion of 'Martyrdom Day'.
